A #Brexit 'Cri De Coeur'

Discovered these words on a Facebook page, sadly with no source, but it sums up our thoughts, post-Brexit, perfectly. We are heading into dark times, both economically and socially.

The myth that the EU is to blame for all our ills will slowly evaporate as our problems simply remain, or deepen.

Worse still, the sharp post-Brexit rise in violent race-, nationality- and faith-based attacks indicates that those with hate in their hearts, emboldened, have had their views validated and feel they now have free rein.

Hate has become normalised. Well done, Britain First. Well done, Ukip.

"I want my country back."
"It used to be a country that, on the whole, would accept and absorb people from different cultures. The national dish became Chicken Tikka Masala. Jamaican music gave rise to a vibrant youth culture in the 60s and 70s. Italians brought us their coffee and ice-cream. Every big city has a buzzing Chinatown."
"But now with this Brexit debate my country has become an intolerant, selfish and brittle place where working class communities have been persuaded that migrants are more to blame for their problems than super-rich parasites like Sir Philip Green."
"So yes, I do want my country back."
"That's why I voted Remain."
